I can't believe it took me almost 2 1/2 months to finally start using the train! I literally live in the parking lot of Union Station so it's more than convenient. For my first ride I decided to hop on the train and explore a little bit of downtown LA. So I walked over to Union Station and took the red line to the 7th street metro station.
From the 7th street metro I walked down to LA Live. LA Live is host to the Nokia theater, where a lot of concerts are, and to the Staples Center, where the Lakers play. It's also filled with a lot of really cool restaurants that I'd like to try!
There was a hockey game that had just finished while I was downtown and ESPN was filming a live broadcast.
After walking around LA Live I walked around The Fashion Institute campus. I know it's lame but all I could think about is how Lauren Conrad went to school here for a brief stint, and that the Hills had been filmed around here several times. It's really a beautiful campus. It sits right on the edge of Grand Hope Park, and there's a really cool art piece at the entrance to the park.
I'm glad I finally got to take the train and walk around downtown to take some pictures. There's still a lot more exploring to do downtown and I can't wait to go back to LA Live!
